1. Failing to Flush the Pipes Before Installation
The greatest enemy of smart mixer taps — such as the SmartControl — is the dirt and sand left inside pipes after construction. If the pipes are not thoroughly flushed before the mixer is installed, these particles will enter the cartridge and damage it immediately.
2. Ignoring Water Pressure Requirements
GROHE products are engineered to perform within specific water pressure ranges. Installing a large rain shower head (XXL) without first verifying that your water pump delivers adequate pressure will result in a weak, disappointing flow.
3. Incorrect Rough-In of Concealed Boxes
Failing to observe the required installation depth for the Rapido SmartBox, or neglecting precise leveling during the rough-in stage, will cause significant problems when fitting the trim kit and cover plate during the finishing phase.
4. Using Low-Quality Sealing Materials
Using poor-quality PTFE tape or applying hemp/flax incorrectly can lead to hidden leaks inside the wall that silently destroy paintwork and tiling over time.
